lĕpas-a free, liberated (from worldly attachments)-IRR
Used three times in this verse, the interpretation of lĕpasa must be altered slightly to fit the
context in each case. In the first hemistich a general statement is made about those who are fit
“to be liberated” . In the second and third hemistichs (lĕpasa) the implication appears to be
“about to be liberated” or “on the point of achieving liberation”.
