PORTMAN GIFTS IDOL<br />
This past May, “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips<br />
arrived in his hometown, Leesburg, Ga. There, Portman<br />
<strong>Music</strong> owner Jerry Portman presented him a new<br />
Yamaha CPX700-12 guitar while Phillips performed<br />
with his old bandmates at a local football stadium.<br />
“From the beginning, I was impressed with<br />
him,” Portman said. “He’s from Georgia. He works<br />
in his father’s pawn shop in Albany, the same<br />
town we have a store in. I voted for him.”<br />
