Baldwin Mourns<br />
Two Former<br />
Executives<br />
Harold Shelby Smith, former<br />
president of Baldwin Piano,<br />
passed away on May 16 after a<br />
brief illness. He was 87. In 1971,<br />
he was employed as plant manager<br />
of Baldwin Piano & Organ in<br />
Greenwood, Miss., and in 1983,<br />
he and a co-worker purchased<br />
the company, where he worked<br />
until his retirement in 1993.<br />
On May 26, Robert Harrison,<br />
former CEO of Baldwin<br />
Piano, passed away from<br />
cancer. He was 80. Harrison<br />
spent his 41-year career at<br />
Baldwin and retired in 1996.<br />

Executive Golden<br />
Passes Away<br />
Michael Golden, vice president of<br />
Erikson <strong>Music</strong> and Korg Canada<br />
and son of Jam Industries founder<br />
Marty Golden, passed away on<br />
May 11 from cancer. He was 50.<br />
Golden was named vice<br />
president of Erikson <strong>Music</strong><br />
and Korg Canada in 1996.<br />
In July 2011, he was promoted to<br />
<br />
vice president of Jam Industries.<br />
Golden is survived by his wife,<br />
Micheline, and his daughter, Dawna.<br />

NGW is dedicated to bringing music<br />
education to guitarists, bassists, keyboardists,<br />
