Before you start<br />

An expanded glossary of <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan terms can be found on pages 22–23; however, you<br />

will see a few terms used frequently throughout this guide. They are:<br />

Bonus Commission<br />

Commission earned in addition to the personal sales<br />

commission rate of 25% as a result of personal or<br />

Team sales performance.<br />

Commissionable Sales<br />

Personal sales on which commissions are eligible to<br />

be paid.<br />

Generation<br />

The position that a Leader/Director holds relative to<br />

another Leader/Director. For example, if Leader B is<br />

the first Leader promoted by Leader A, then Leader<br />

B is a First Generation Leader of Leader A. If Leader<br />

C was the first Leader promoted by Leader B, then<br />

Leader C would be a First Generation Leader of Leader<br />

B and a Second Generation Leader of Leader A.<br />

Frequently Asked Questions<br />

What is a qualified Consultant?<br />

A Consultant who has submitted at least $200 in personal sales within a calendar month.<br />

What if I submit less than $200 in a calendar month?<br />

You will still receive 25% commission on personal sales submitted but will not be considered when<br />

determining the level that your Sponsor qualifies at. Your personal sales will still count towards<br />

Team sales requirements and your Sponsor will still earn bonus commission on your sales.<br />

What happens to my title if I do not qualify at my<br />

level during a given month?<br />

When you qualify as a Senior Manager or above within a calendar month, you will be recognized at<br />

that level for a period of time following the month at which you last qualified at that level.<br />

The title retention periods are:<br />

• Senior Manager: 2 months<br />

• Leader: 3 months<br />

• Senior Leader: 4 months<br />

• Business Development Leader: 5 months<br />

• Director: 6 months<br />

• Executive Director: 12 months<br />

• National Director: 12 months<br />

For example, if you qualified as a Senior Leader in January, you would be recognized as a Senior<br />

Leader for the four months following (February to May inclusive), even if you did not qualify as<br />

a Senior Leader in this time. However, you will always be paid at the level you qualify at for that<br />

month. If during this time you qualified as a Senior Leader again in March, then the four months<br />

would reset, and you would have April until July as a Senior Leader.<br />

Are cash bonuses and bonus commission paid on<br />

qualified level or recognized level?<br />

All cash bonuses and bonus commissions are earned according to the level you qualify at for<br />

the month, not your recognized level. For example, if you were recognized as a Leader, but only<br />

qualified as a Senior Manager, then you would earn bonus commission as if you were a<br />

Senior Manager.<br />

What is the New Leader Bonus?<br />

The New Leader Bonus is a $250 cash bonus paid to new Leaders when they first qualify as a Leader<br />

and have signed the online Leadership Agreement. An additional $250 will be paid to that Leader if<br />

they qualify as a Leader in the subsequent two months following that promotion.<br />

A $250 First Generation New Leader Promotion Bonus will also be paid to the promoting Leader<br />

when they promote a new First Generation Leader, with an additional $250 if that new Leader<br />

qualifies as a Leader in the subsequent two months following the promotion.<br />

For the purposes of this bonus, Consultants who achieved Leader level prior to April 1, 2012, but<br />

were not Leaders as at April 1, 2012, will be considered as having never been a Leader, and will be<br />

eligible for the New Leader Bonus.


As a Leader, can I count the sales and structure<br />

of a Team member in the month they promote<br />

to Leader?<br />

Yes. During the month of promotion, the personal and Team sales of a promoting Consultant, along<br />

with their Team structure, count towards your requirements. This means you would qualify as a<br />

Senior Leader so long as you had three other qualified Personally Sponsored Consultants and at<br />

least $1,000 in personal sales.<br />

You would then be paid 5% on the total sales of that new First Generation Team in the month of<br />

their promotion.<br />

In following months, you would no longer be able to count that new Leader as one of your four<br />

Personally Sponsored Consultants.<br />

Special Situations<br />

Deletion<br />

When a Consultant fails to qualify (submit $200 in personal sales within a calendar month) for 12<br />

consecutive months, they are deleted as a Consultant and are no longer eligible to sell.<br />

Should they wish to become a Consultant again, they must purchase a new Business Success Kit.<br />

Passing-By<br />

When Consultant B, a Personally Sponsored Consultant of non-Leader Consultant A, is promoted to<br />

Leader, they “pass by” Consultant A. This means that Consultant A can no longer count Consultant<br />

B as a Personally Sponsored Consultant, and they are no longer eligible to earn bonus commission<br />

on the personal sales or Team sales of new Leader B. New Leader B is now re-assigned as a First<br />

Generation Leader of the first Leader/Director in the upline.<br />

Consultant A now has 12 months following the month of promotion to promote to Leader or higher,<br />

or new Leader B will be permanently re-assigned. Alternatively, should new Leader B lose Leader<br />

status within 12 months, Leader B will re join the Team of Consultant A.<br />

Rebuild Period<br />

When a Leader or above promotes a new Leader from their Team, they have three months to rebuild<br />

their Team. Their Team sales volume requirement will be reduced to $4,000 for the three months<br />

following the promotion and their structure requirements will be reduced to four qualified Personally<br />

Sponsored Consultants, with no total Consultant requirement. The personal sales requirement of<br />

$1,000 per month remains.<br />

Simultaneous Promotion<br />

When Consultant A has Consultant B in their Team and Consultant B qualifies as a Leader, Consultant<br />

A can promote at the same time, so long as they have $1,000 in personal sales for that month, and<br />

four qualified Personally Sponsored Consultants. One of those four qualified Personally Sponsored<br />

Consultants may be Consultant B.<br />

Bonus commission:<br />

Commission earned in addition to the personal sales commission rate of 25%, as a result of<br />

personal or Team sales performance.<br />

Cash bonuses:<br />

Cash payments occurring as a result of performance within the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan; for example,<br />

the New Leader Bonus.<br />

Car Bonus:<br />

Monthly cash payment paid to Consultants who qualify as Director or above within a calendar<br />

month.<br />

Commissionable Sales:<br />

Personal sales on which commissions are eligible to be paid.<br />

Downline:<br />

Consultants within your Team, or within the Teams of Leaders/Directors that you have personally<br />

sponsored or have been sponsored by Consultants in your Team.<br />

First Generation Leader:<br />

When a Consultant whom you have personally sponsored qualifies as a Leader, they become one<br />

of your First Generation Leaders.<br />

Generation:<br />

The position that a Leader/Director holds relative to another Leader/Director. For example, if<br />

Leader B is the first Leader promoted by Leader A, then Leader B is a First Generation Leader of<br />

Leader A. If Leader C was the first Leader promoted by Leader B, then Leader C would be a First<br />

Generation Leader of Leader B and a Second Generation Leader of Leader A.<br />

New Leader Bonus:<br />

A promotion bonus for first-time Leaders. The new Leader will receive $250 the first time they<br />

meet all Leader qualifications and an additional $250 when qualifying as a Leader for the next two<br />

consecutive months.<br />

Organization:<br />

Your entire downline, which includes Consultants within your Team, or within the Team of<br />

Leaders/Directors that you have personally sponsored or have been sponsored by Consultants on<br />

your Team.<br />

Passing-by:<br />

When a Consultant promotes to Leader before the Consultant who personally sponsored them,<br />

a pass-by occurs, and the new Leader is re-assigned to the Leader or Director immediately above<br />

them. The passed-by Consultant has 12 months to promote to Leader to regain the promoted<br />

Consultant.<br />

Personal Sales:<br />

The commissionable sales in dollars, submitted by a Consultant.<br />

Personal Sales Bank:<br />

For each month in which an Executive Director or above exceeds their personal sales<br />

requirement, that excess amount will be added to their Personal Sales Bank. In any month in<br />

which an Executive Director or above sells less than their personal sales requirement, the amount<br />

needed to reach their personal sales requirement is automatically drawn from the Personal Sales<br />

Bank. The Personal Sales Bank is reset to $2,000 at the start of each calendar year. The balance<br />

must be at least $2,000 at the end of the calendar year or that Executive Director will not be<br />

considered to have met their personal sales requirements for the month of December.<br />

Personal Sales Waiver:<br />

A Personal Sales Waiver (PSW) allows a Leader to waive their personal sales requirements during a<br />

given month. A Leader meeting all Leader criteria except for personal sales could take a PSW and<br />

still qualify as a Leader, thus counting as a qualified Leader for their upline Leader. New first-time<br />

Leaders will receive one PSW upon their promotion. An additional PSW will be given when a<br />

Leader qualifies as a Leader for 10 months.


Personally Sponsored Consultant:<br />

A Consultant below Leader level that was sponsored by you.<br />

Promotion:<br />

Moving up one or more levels in the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan by meeting the qualification criteria of a<br />

higher level.<br />

Qualified:<br />

A Consultant that has met all personal sales and qualified Consultant requirements for their level in<br />

the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan.<br />

Qualification Criteria:<br />

Used to determine titles within the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan. Depending on the level, this will include<br />

personal sales, Team sales, qualified Team members, qualified Personally Sponsored Consultants<br />

and qualified Leaders.<br />

Rebuild Period:<br />

When one of your Personally Sponsored Consultants becomes a Leader, your qualification criteria<br />

is reduced to four qualified Personally Sponsored Consultants and $4,000 Team sales for the three<br />

calendar months following the promotion. Personal Sales requirements remain at $1,000.<br />

Recognition Title:<br />

The level at which a Consultant is recognized. This may be higher than the qualified level,<br />

depending on the length of title retention at their particular level.<br />

Second Generation Leader:<br />

A First Generation Leader of one of your own First Generation Leaders.<br />

Simultaneous Promotion:<br />

Occurs when a Consultant and their Personally Sponsored Consultant both qualify as Leaders<br />

within the same calendar month. The first Consultant would become a Senior Leader, as they now<br />

have one qualified Leader whom they have personally sponsored.<br />

Sponsor:<br />

The person who personally sponsored you into <strong>Epicure</strong>.<br />

Team:<br />

The group of Consultants whom you have personally sponsored, or are in the downline of your<br />

Personally Sponsored Consultant.<br />

Team Sales:<br />

Total personal sales of your Team including your personal sales.<br />

Title:<br />

The name given to a specific level within the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan, e.g. Senior Manager.<br />

Title Retention:<br />

If a Senior Manager or above does not achieve their qualification criteria, they will earn bonus<br />

commission at the level on which they qualify at. However, they retain their title for a set period of<br />

time, depending on the level at which they last qualified at. See pages 14–15 for more details.<br />

Upline:<br />

The Consultants above you in the <strong>Compensation</strong> Plan, whose Team you are on, or the Leader/<br />

Director that sponsored you, or your Sponsor. Typically, your upline earns bonus commission on<br />

your personal sales.<br />
