Although the 2011 driving season is drawing to a close, we are already looking forward to another great year coming up in 2012! Whether maneuvering cones in an autocross, keeping track of the “rules of the road” in a rallye, or trying to hit every apex with precision at a DE, our events would not be possible without the help of volunteers. The registrar works closely with the event chair as well as the chief driving instructors and track control, so that we know how many people are coming, what they’re driving, and whether they are a newcomer or PCA veteran. Are you interested in understanding more about how PCA events function? Do you like meeting new people? Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Porsches and driving with others? If so, the registration committee is looking for you! We need committee members to help in two different capacities: preevent organization and on-site registration. HighGear November 2011 RMR/AMR Driving Instructor Certification Apply for Instructor Training! The Alpine and Rocky Mountain Regions are looking for experienced Driver Ed. drivers to apply for the 2012 Driving Instructor program. As an instructor candidate, you will be joining an exceptional group of people. The RMR/AMR instructor corps has impressive expertise and plays a key role in the success of our Driver Education program. It will be a most rewarding experience for you. If you volunteer and join this hardy, hard-working group of knowledgeable instructors, you will be passing on what you have learned to other new members of our club. You will be instilling in students the technical aspects of what this wonderful passion for track driving is really all about. To apply for Instructor Training, fill out the application from the RMR Web site (click on the Drivers Ed tab at rmr.pca.org) and submit it to the RMR or AMR Chief Driving Instructor by February 11, 2012.
