Selecting
the Postage
Mode
In order to process your mail, you need
to select the mode that is appropriate
for your mail job. To access the modes,
press the Mode key on the IntelliLink
Control Centre.
The available modes are summarized
in this table. These are the names of
the modes that appear in the main
screen when you press the Mode key.
For a detailed description of each
mode, refer to the specific mode topic
in this section.

Weighing Options Summary of when to use
Differential Weighing Use this to weigh and calculate postage
for a piece of mail removed from a stack
of mail on the scale.
Manual Weight Entry This selection allows you to key in the
weight of a mail piece manually. Manual
weight entry is typically used if you do
not have access to a DM Series integrated
weigh platform or if you already
know the weight of the mail piece.
In order to process mail, you must know
the weight of the mail piece in order to
accurately calculate the rate for the mail
piece.
Attached Scale This selection allows you to use a DM
Series integrated weigh platform to
establish the weight of the mail piece
being processed.
In order to process mail, the weight of

Attached Scale - AutoTape Use this when you want your mailing
system to weigh your piece of mail and
determine the appropriate postage and
automatically print the postage on tape.
Seal Only Use this if you do not want to apply
postage but simply seal the envelope.
