born in Rome in 1966, is<br />

1971. He graduated from the<br />

School of Superior Visual Arts<br />

of Geneva. Award-winner of<br />

numerous competitions of<br />

comic strip, he has received in<br />

1997 the Toepffer Price of the<br />

city of Geneva and in 2003 “ Le<br />

Grand Prix <strong>de</strong> la ville <strong>de</strong> Sierre ”<br />

(for L’Œil <strong>de</strong> la forêt, published<br />

by Casterman. Recently he has<br />

also signed five stamps for the<br />

swiss mail.<br />

After an education at the School of Graphic<br />

Arts (Met <strong>de</strong> Penninghen), then at the School of<br />

Decorative Arts in Paris, Lionel Richerand specializes<br />

in illustrating and directing animated films.<br />

To begin with, he created images for the Bayard<br />

press Internet site and enews. In October 2007<br />

he published, with Akiléos, the comic book Petit<br />

conte léguminesque, collaborating with Eric Sannier.<br />

Immersed in the world of animated film, he<br />

produced a 26-minute film <strong>La</strong> Peur du Loup, codirected<br />

the series Les Grabonautes and participated<br />

in the feature film Renaissance by Christian<br />

Volckman. At the moment he is working on his<br />

own feature film and several comic-strip projects.<br />
