Preface<br />

This product was carefully inspected, tested, <strong>and</strong> calibrated before shipment to<br />

ensure years of stable <strong>and</strong> trouble-free service.<br />

1. Check equipment for any visible damage that may have occurred during<br />

transit.<br />

2. Confirm that you have received all items listed on the packing list.<br />

3. Contact your dealer if any item on the packing list is missing.<br />

4. Contact the carrier if any item is damaged.<br />

5. Remove all packaging material from the product <strong>and</strong> its associated<br />

<strong>com</strong>ponents before you install the unit.<br />

Keep at least one set of original packaging, in the event that you need to return a<br />

product for servicing.<br />

The Panacea product line is not designed for extensive field service; however,<br />

some field service changes can be done on-site. The following list provides the<br />

types of field service changes allowable for a Panacea product. You can perform<br />

these field service changes yourself; instructions for performing these changes<br />

can be found on the following pages:.<br />

• Installing an enhanced resource card in place of a st<strong>and</strong>ard resource card<br />

(pages 195–199)<br />

• Changing a fan module (not applicable in all formats) (pages 211–214)<br />

• Installing an optional power supply mounting tray (pages 201–209)<br />

You can perform these field service changes yourself; instructions for<br />

performing these changes are included with the equipment.<br />

• Installing an optional integrated power supply mounting bracket assembly<br />

<strong>and</strong> integrated power supply<br />

A Field Service representative must perform the following field services<br />

changes. (Alternatively, you may return your Panacea product to the Customer<br />

Service department for upgrade.) Contact your Customer Service representative<br />

for more information about these field service changes.<br />

• Adding a local control panel<br />

• Adding an optional submodule (e.g., SDI reclocker submodule)<br />

All other hardware upgrades, modifications, or repairs require you to return<br />

your Panacea product to the service center.<br />
