SIMON BENNETT<br />

DIRECTOR, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING<br />

Simon enters his fourth year as Fitness Consultant with the Oilers. In<br />

this role he is responsible for developing and implementing all aspects<br />

of strength, conditioning and nutrition for players throughout the<br />

organization.<br />

Simon is a prominent expert in the field of personal fitness and high performance conditioning.<br />

He has changed the lives of countless clients with his relentless commitment to training and<br />

education. He works and consults with a long list of high profile business leaders, CEOs and<br />

professional athletes.<br />

Simon is president and co-founder of Body by Bennett; a premier professional health, wellness and<br />

training facility, where he provides an innovative sport-conditioning and athletic development<br />

program, in addition to general population programs. He is co-creator of the instructional DVD<br />

Reactive Movement Ability Training for Hockey, an innovative movement training program for<br />

young players. Simon is also a fitness educator and author. He has presented such topics as,<br />

athletic conditioning, functional movement training, and peak performance, to sports teams,<br />

professional organizations and fitness trainers.<br />

Simon is characterized by his energy, enthusiasm, and passion for fitness and sport. He lives by<br />

the motto “your attitude in life determines your quality of life.” His personal training style is to<br />

lead by example and motivate through encouragement. Simon’s interests include taking risks,<br />

playing hockey, golfing, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.<br />

CHAD DRUMMOND<br />

COORDINATOR, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING<br />

Chad Drummond enters his first full season with the Oilers as the club’s<br />

Strength and Conditioning Coach, after assisting Simon Bennett over<br />

the past two seasons. He will be responsible for the development and<br />

implementation of all day to day aspects of the teams off ice conditioning.<br />

Over the past seven years, Chad has been working as a trainer/strength coach at Body by<br />

Bennett. During this time, Drummond was responsible for creating the club’s group training<br />

and yoga programs and also served as Body by Bennett’s west end manager.<br />

Chad is a dedicated and influential trainer who has developed the skills necessary to pursue<br />

the perfection of strength and conditioning implementation in the realm of professional hockey.<br />

Chad is born and raised in Edmonton and has enveloped himself in the life of a personal trainer<br />

and has adopted the belief that there is no difference between success and hard work. Chad’s<br />

philosophy of physical fitness lays in the foundation of the belief that anything is possible<br />

through hard work and dedication to one’s belief in themselves.<br />

Chad has a strong wealth of experience working with National Hockey League players, Olympic<br />

athletes and other world class athletes. He has also been responsible for the education of<br />

practicum students from the University of Alberta and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
