and was his first career Oilers/NHL assist and point…2005-06: Third in scoring among<br />

defencemen on Portland Pirates (AHL) with 28 points (3-25-28) in 71 games played…<br />

registered two assists in the Pirates 4-1 win at Bridgeport on Oct. 22...scored his first<br />

AHL goal on Nov. 25 in the Pirates 5-4 OTL at Providence...scored a goal in the Pirates<br />

7-4 win in Albany on Jan. 20…recorded two assists in the Pirates 6-3 win at Providence<br />

on Mar. 19…played in the 2006 World Junior Championships with the Czech National<br />

Junior Team in Vancouver, recording a goal and an assist…2004-05: After completing<br />

his third season with HC Liberec in the Czech Republic, Smid recorded one goal and three<br />

assists for four points with 14 penalty minutes in 39 games. He was scoreless in 12<br />

playoff games with 6 penalty minutes…2003-04: Played 45 games, registering a goal<br />

and an assist for two points with 51 penalty minutes…2002-03: Was scoreless in four<br />

games with Liberec…INTERNATIONAL: Has represented the Czech Republic at the last<br />

two world championships…played six games for the Czech Republic at the 2007 World<br />

Championship in Moscow & was a member of his national team in 2008, but did not play<br />

in any games in Halifax & Quebec City…played for the Czech Republic in three straight<br />

World Junior Hockey Championships from 2004 through 2006…helped lead the Czech<br />

World Junior team to a bronze medal in 2005, recording two assists in seven games…<br />
