5.4.2. REMOVING THE REAR WHEEL<br />

• Position the vehicle on the center stand.<br />

• Set a support under the frame.<br />

• Remove the exhaust system, see (REMOVING THE<br />

EXHAUST SILENCER).<br />

• Loosen and remove the two screws.<br />

• Slide out the rear brake caliper, keep it connected to<br />

the fluid line.<br />

• Remove the cover.<br />

• Remove the split pin on the wheel shaft.<br />

• Remove the nut cover.<br />

• Loosen and remove the wheel shaft nut.<br />

• Remove the rear wheel together with brake disc, slide<br />

it out from the right side.<br />

WARNING<br />

Do not operate the front brake lever when the<br />

wheel is not in place or the caliper piston might<br />

come off its housing, thus causing brake fluid<br />

leakage.<br />
