into His likeness, and triumph over every obstacle till<br />

God shall call us to Himself.<br />

"As to the last particular, The end of this heavenly<br />

race. How can I find words to speak of it ? The Scriptures<br />

say<br />

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither<br />

have entered into the heart of man the things which God<br />

hath prepared for them that love Him.' In this world,<br />

God's people cannot hope to escape many trials ; nay,<br />

because of their faith in Jesus Christ, they may have<br />

to pass through greater affliction than other people.<br />

But there will be an end to all this. When they have<br />

finished their course, they shall obtain rest and a great<br />

reward in the Kingdom of their glorified Lord ; which<br />

reward is one that will be '<br />

incorruptible, undefiled, and<br />

that fadeth not away.' This, then,<br />

successful runner of whom we have been speaking, and<br />

is what awaits the<br />

this is the reward now placed within the reach of every<br />

one. May all friends here to-day<br />

be enabled to choose<br />

The foregoing sentences give a fair, although very<br />

incomplete account of Lau-seng's address, and show<br />

nothing at all of the simplicity and unassuming earnestness<br />

with which he spoke.
