Saint Peter Merchantville’s Junior<br />

Varsity boys and girls basketball teams<br />

both won their respective league championships<br />

during the second week of<br />

March.<br />

The St. Peter boys won their championship<br />

game by beating St. Joan of Arc<br />

from Marlton, and finished their season<br />

23-0. The St. Peter girls won their championship<br />

game by beating Our Lady of<br />

Mt. Carmel from Berlin. The St. Peter<br />

girls were beaten by Mt. Carmel during<br />

Saint Pete’s JV Basketball Teams Win Championships<br />

the regular season, but won the championship<br />

game 17-12. The majority of the<br />

players reside in <strong>Pennsauken</strong>.<br />

The players from the boys’ team included<br />

Matt Coffey, Mason Domico,<br />

David Cross, Myjere Evans, Blaise<br />

Faiola, Nick Sorino, Andrew Frombach,<br />

Gabe Rodriguez, Brennan Delp, Mike<br />

Doctorovitz, Billy Lineman, John Wirth,<br />

and Kyle Bolger. The coaches of this<br />

team included Fran McGovern, John<br />

Domico, and John Coffey.<br />

some of South Jersey’s finest track and<br />

field stars as over 30 high schools and<br />

1,000 athletes are expected to compete<br />

for the cherished Cam-Glo medal.<br />
