UNIT 1: COURSE INTRODUCTION UNIT 1 COURSE INTRODUCTION RATIONALE GOAL The IS-613 Technical Writing course is designed as an asynchronous course. This course supports the Master Trainer professional and communication foundational competencies of the Instructional Design Certificate program. The course will consist of multiple modules instructing to the comprehension of research, writing, and graphic communications principles. The purpose of the IS-613 Technical Writing course is to provide participants with comprehension level knowledge of research, written, and graphical skills needed to communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Technical Writing contains 7 units. UNIT 1: COURSE INTRODUCTION How to Complete This Course Activities This course includes activities that highlight basic concepts. These activities emphasize different learning objectives and students are encouraged to complete them in order to meet course objectives. Knowledge Checks To help you check your understanding of the course material, Units 2 through 6 are followed by a Knowledge Check that asks questions that pertain to the unit content.
