to effect textual amendments to earlier statutes and thus they are now spent, (for<br />

example the Acts relating to the Church of Scotland Trust, Aberdeen<br />

Shoemakers Incorporation and the Society of the Solicitors in the Supreme<br />

Courts of Scotland); or they are redundant because circumstances have<br />

changed, (as in the case of the Merchants House (Crematorium) Act which<br />

empowered the Merchants House to erect and operate a crematorium on<br />

specified ground that in fact it no longer owns).<br />

Interested parties were in all cases consulted about repeal and had no objection.<br />
