the student must make arrangements with their instructor for makeup assignments and/or missed
tests.
• Makeup assignments/tests will be scheduled at the Instructor’s/Program Supervisor’s
discretion.
• A student cannot make up any assignment/test/lab practical during hours of their
scheduled class attendance.
• A student that successfully makes up an assignment/test/lab practical will be giving the
appropriate grade minus points deducted per days missed.
• Makeup assignments are given at the instructors’ discretion and lose 10% of the total grade
each day that it is late. The assignments can only be up to four “school” days late. All
tests/exams must be made up by scheduling a time with the Program Supervisor within
“ONE” day of missing the test/exam.
For Example:
o One day – 10% deduction
o Two days – 20% deduction
o Three days – 30% deduction
o Four days – 40% deduction
• NO assignments will be accepted after the LAST day of the course in which the student
missed the assignments.
Cosmetology Program Make up Hours Policy
It is the policy in the IntelliTec College Cosmetology program that all missed classroom hours must be
made up on campus.
It is preferable that students attend the day/night class of the day they missed in order to stay on track
with curriculum for that specific course; instructor lecture, classroom discussion, lab procedures, etc. If the
student cannot attend corresponding day/night class, students must make up class time by completing a
makeup assignment that may entail; book work, case studies, class web activities, and/or periodical
research. All makeup work will be done in the Learning Resource Center/Tec Café.
Class hours are scheduled in 15 minute increments; four 15 minute increments equals one class hour. If
you miss only 15 minutes of class, you are still required to make up that time, as daily accrual of missed
time will equal more make-up hours to complete.
Makup hours may be made up in the Learning Resource Center on these days and during these times:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am – 10:00pm
Friday 8:00am – 1:30pm
Procedure for make-up time in the Learning Resource Center:
Prior to performing makeup time, speak with your instructor and let them know when you are
planning to do your makeup time. Assignments vary based upon the amount of classroom hours you
missed.
Sign in on the appropriate clipboard for the Cosmetology Program at the Tec Café counter.
Makeup hour assignments are located in the white binder at the Tec Café counter. Instructions are
located within the binder.
