The increase in exclusive breastfeeding is demonstrated across all modes of birth and<br />

reflects the culture of early initiation of breastfeeding. A reduction in the use of supplements<br />

during the short recovery stage has contributed to the increase in exclusive breastfeeding for<br />

women having an elective Caesarean section.<br />

It is encouraging to see that in all age groups there is an increase in exclusive breastfeeding<br />
