— More than three hundred<br />

sets were bowled in opening<br />

weekend action of the 72nd<br />

City <strong>Bowling</strong> Championships<br />

at Tenpins & More. Scoring<br />

was high, with more than<br />

two dozen games over 270,<br />

including a pair of 289’s and a<br />

near-perfect 299.<br />

Rio Rancho bowlers fared<br />

well, with two local teams first<br />

and second in the 900-plus<br />

teams event, a pin apart at<br />

3,356 and 3,355, captained<br />

RIO RANCHO, NM – Dana<br />

Miller-Mackie topped the charts<br />

at Tenpins & More last month<br />

with a booming 277-267-268<br />

= 812 Scratch Doubles league<br />

session.<br />

Dan Brenning also from the<br />

Scratch Doubles group led the<br />

men with a rousing 249-290-235<br />

= 774 set.<br />

Donna Dowd finished close<br />

behind with an award-winning<br />

perfecto and 803 Rancho Runners<br />

series.<br />

Lance Hutchinson’s near<br />

perfect 299 solo took runner-up<br />

honors. Bob Dillman fell a few<br />

pins short with a 297 game.<br />

Bowler All-America team<br />

ARLINGTON — For the first<br />

time in his career, Team USA’s<br />

Bill O’Neill of Southampton,<br />

Pa., has been named to the US<br />

Bowler All-America team.<br />

O’Neill was the leading<br />

vote-getter after winning<br />

two titles on the Lumber<br />

Liquidators Professional<br />

Bowlers Association Tour in<br />

2010 and three gold medals<br />

at the 2010 World Tenpin<br />

<strong>Bowling</strong> Association World<br />

Men’s Championships. Voters<br />

for the All-America teams used<br />

statistics from the calendar<br />

year 2010 to make their<br />

decisions.<br />

O’Neill totaled seven top-10<br />

finishes on the PBA Tour in<br />

2010, including victories at the<br />

U.S. Open and the PBA Viper<br />

Championship. He also won<br />

the singles, all-events and<br />

team gold medals at the World<br />

Championships in Munich,<br />

Germany.<br />

Joining O’Neill on the men’s<br />

All-America team are Walter<br />

Ray Williams Jr. of Ocala, Fla.,<br />

Tommy Jones of Simpsonville,<br />

S.C., Mike Scroggins of<br />

Amarillo, Texas, and Chris<br />

Barnes of Double Oak, Texas.<br />

For Williams, it is his 18th<br />

appearance on the All-America<br />

team.<br />

US Bowler, the official<br />

membership publication of<br />

the USBC, also recognizes<br />

five women and five senior<br />

All-Americans.<br />

Kelly Kulick of Union,<br />

N.J., was the women’s top<br />

vote-getter after dominating<br />

the major women’s events in<br />

2010. In addition to topping the<br />

men at the PBA Tournament<br />

of Champions, Kulick won<br />

the USBC Queens and the U.S.<br />

Women’s Open.<br />

In earning her All-America<br />

spot for the fifth consecutive<br />

year, Kulick also won two gold<br />

medals (doubles and team)<br />

representing Team USA at the<br />

2010 Pan American <strong>Bowling</strong><br />

Confederation Women’s<br />

Championships.<br />

won three of the seven PBA<br />

Senior Tour events in which he<br />

competed and finished second<br />

Webb captured one of<br />

the PBA Senior Tour’s major<br />

events, the USBC Senior<br />

Masters, while also claiming<br />

titles at the Senior Columbus<br />

Open and the Senior Jackson<br />

Open.<br />

Joining Webb on the senior<br />

All-America team is Tom Baker<br />

of King, N.C., Mark Williams<br />

of Beaumont, Texas, and Steve<br />

Ferraro of Kingston, N.Y.<br />

Rounding out the senior team<br />

is Walter Ray Williams Jr., who<br />

became the first player to earn<br />

a spot on the men’s team and<br />

the senior team in the same<br />

year.<br />

<strong>The</strong> US Bowler All-America<br />

teams are selected in voting<br />

by a national panel of bowling<br />

journalists, USBC Hall of<br />

Famers and USBC association<br />

leaders. Each All-American will<br />

be presented with a customized<br />
