Why is residential traffic being diverted to go through an industrial area? Why would a Council encourage industrial traffic to go through residential areas? What is Council’s hidden agenda? Surf Beach Avenue (lower section) is currently carrying heavy vehicles from Beach Road to the rural section. The construction of the Link Road will remove these heavy vehicles from the urban areas. There is no proposal on the table that would result in residential traffic being diverted through an industrial area. Council’s hidden agenda in this instance is to improve the amenity and reduce traffic impacts on the urban residents of Surf Beach Avenue.

How much is the total money received from the organisers of the Rally. Taken on notice. Reply As noted on Page 7 of the Works and Facilities Committee Agenda on 10 October 2006, 68 vehicles competed in the Rally at a cost of $15.00 per vehicle. We were previously advised that 68 vehicles had competed in the event, however the payment made by the Rally organisers reflects that 69 vehicles competed in the event. Therefore, the total amount received was $1,035.
