The <strong>for</strong>mer FRY has concluded several bilateral international agreements with other<br />
states on combating organized crime, terrorism, illegal narcotics trade and other<br />
serious <strong>for</strong>ms of international crime.<br />
In the area of Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters and Extradition, the following<br />
international treaties are of importance:<br />
Multilateral:<br />
- The European Convention on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters of<br />
April 20, 1959 with the Additional Protocol of March 17, 1978 (Official Gazette of<br />
the FRY 10/01);<br />
- The European Convention on Extradition of December 13, 1957 with Additional<br />
Protocols from October 15, 1975 and March 17, 1978 (Official Gazette of the FRY<br />
10/01).<br />
- The European Convention on International Validity of Criminal Judgments with<br />
Annexes from March 28, 1970 (Official Gazette of the FRY 13/02);<br />
- Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime with Additional Protocols<br />
(Official Gazette of the FRY 6/01 and 11/05);<br />
Bilateral:<br />
- Convention on Extradition of Convicts between the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and<br />
Slovenians and the Republic of Albania of June 22, 1926. (“Official Gazette No.<br />
117/1929”), came into <strong>for</strong>ce on May 17, 1929 ;<br />
- Agreement on Legal Assistance in Civil and Criminal Matters between the SFRY<br />
and the Democratic Republic of Algiers of March 31, 1982 (“Official Gazette of<br />
the SFRY 2/83”, rectification published in the Official Gazette of the SFRY<br />
10/84”), came into <strong>for</strong>ce on December 20, 1984;<br />
- Agreement on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between the SFRY and the<br />
Republic of Austria of February 1, 1982 (“Official Gazette of the SFRY 2/83”),<br />
