Energy RTD Information Systems in the ERA
www.dfg.de Website of the German Research Foundation (‘Deutsche Forsch
ungsgemeinschaft’), a self-governing research organisation that
promotes research at universities and other publicly fi nanced
research institutions in Germany. This website contains a project
database that gives access to project descriptions of all research
projects currently funded by the DFG (in German). The database
also contains energy research projects. Initiative of an individual
funding organisation.
www.energiportal.dk Energygate is a Danish collection of quality resources on
the Internet in the fi eld of energy technology. Energygate is
a cooperation between Aalborg University Library, Technical
Knowledge Center of Denmark, Risø Library and Denmark’s
Electronic Research Library, deff.dk. Full content available in
Danish; partly also in English. It contains a direct link to ETDEWEB
for Danish users. Also contains links to university libraries. Mainly a
hub.
ES IDEA www.idae.es This is the website of the Institute for Energy Diversifi cation and
Effi ciency (IDAE) in Spain. IDEA is a public company, depending
on the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, through the
General Secretariat of Energy. IDAE’s mission is to promote energy
effi ciency and the rational use of energy in Spain, as well as the
diversifi cation of energy sources and the promotion of renewable
energy.
The website informs on IDEA’s activities, includes descriptions
of successful operating projects funded by IDEA in the fi eld of
energy generation (areas: cogeneration, hydro, photovoltaic, wind)
and also informs on funding of new energy technology projects
(‘ICO-IDAE Finance for Energy Effi ciency and Renewable Energy
projects – 2004) and innovation projects (Order CTE/3131/2003
of investigation aids, of 12/11/2003, call for aid concessions for
investigation projects).
EU Agores www.agores.org The Agores site is reportedly designed to be the most extensive
European information centre and knowledge gateway for renewable
energy, helping to promote the European Union’s strategy to
achieve 12% of RES by 2010. It shall do this by allowing fast
and effi cient access to an extensive range of information and
connecting all the major renewable energy players. Aim is not to
duplicate any information that already exists on the internet, but
simply make effi cient links to this data.
The site seems to be funded by DG TREN as their logo is put on the
site. The last news items are from May 2001 so the site seems to be
outdated.

This is a sub site of CORDIS that provides information from the
European Commission services on the development of technology
platforms, initially through summary fi ches on many of the emerging
cases. Technology platforms are being set up at the initiative of
the Commission and industry, and shall bring together companies,
research institutions, the fi nancial world and the regulatory
authorities at the European level to defi ne a common research
agenda which should mobilise a critical mass of national and
European public and private resources. The European Hydrogen
and Fuel Cell Technology Platform is one of these technology
platforms.
