Annex B – Selected examples of energy RTD info systems
This annex presents an overview of 25 selected examples of Energy RTD information systems. It
gives detailed descriptions of the 25 selected examples of energy RTD info systems. This annex
gives insight in the different type of concepts and approaches that are used to disclose energy
RTD through webbased information systems.
System identifi cation and selection
Identifi cation of the systems was done on the one hand by the users themselves (in the users’
questionnaire), and on the other hand by websearch of the project team. Main criteria for selection
were that the system (i) should focus on energy RTD and provide results of energy RTD and (ii)
go beyond a limited energy RTD database of one isolated producer or institute. Also practical
criteria such as country coverage, language of the system and added value to the study were
used. The following examples were selected:
1. AT Energytech.at
2. CH ENET
3. DE research portal
4. DK DEA website
5. EU Atlas
6. EU CORDIS
7. EU EIE
8. EU Espacenet
9. EU Managenergy
10. EU OPET Network
11. FR IFP publication database
12. INT Enersearch
13. INT IEA / OECD Caddet
14. INT IEA / OECD Greentie
15. INT IEA ETDEWEB
16. INT IEA Implementing Agreements
17. INT IEA Information Centre
18. INT Scirus
19. INT WIRE
20. IT CESI RdS database
21. NL NOVEM website
22. REG Nordic Energy Index
23. REG Nordic Energy Research
24. UK EPRSC database
25. US DOE EERE website
The table hereafter presents the main characteristics of the 25 selected examples of Energy
RTD information systems, as assessed by the project team. Websites that were not selected for
presentation in this annex but that have relevance for energy RTD or energy RTD information
systems are listed and briefl y described in annex C of this report.
