Konsumfiskeindustriens Arbejdsgiver<strong>for</strong>ening (KAF) - [Employers' Association <strong>for</strong> the Consumer<br />

Fishery Industry] is another unifying association <strong>for</strong> the Danish <strong>fish</strong>ery industries (mainly the sea<br />

6.2 Institutions - Research, development, education related to aquaculture<br />

Technical University <strong>of</strong> Denmark, DTU, is a private foundation conducting research, education,<br />

research-based consulting services to the public authorities in Denmark. DTU comprises 18<br />

institutes. One <strong>of</strong> these is National Institute <strong>of</strong> Aquatic Resources, DTU Aqua. In DTU Aqua,<br />

Section <strong>for</strong> Aquaculture in Hirtshals, conducts applied aquaculture research and counselling.<br />

Current research includes <strong>fish</strong> nutrition, environmental impacts <strong>of</strong> <strong>fish</strong> farming, <strong>fish</strong> physiology,<br />

<strong>fish</strong> welfare and aquaculture management. DTU Aqua has several full scale rearing facilities and<br />

advanced laboratory facilities. The partner will contribute with know-how and experience in <strong>fish</strong><br />
