diagnostic laboratories, pharmaceuticals <strong>for</strong> <strong>fish</strong> as well as associations connected to <strong>fish</strong> health. It<br />
give also general in<strong>for</strong>mation about the <strong>fish</strong> health situation.<br />
The webpage www.lusedata.no publishes regional data <strong>for</strong> the salmon lice situation in Norway. The<br />
data is based on the <strong>fish</strong>farmers reports to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet).<br />
www.Algeinfo.imr.no is a weekly in<strong>for</strong>mation provided by the Institute <strong>of</strong> Marine Research, NIVA<br />
and SINTEF on the algae situation along the Norwegian coast. In<strong>for</strong>mation on safety <strong>of</strong> mussels is<br />
provided by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (www.mattilsynet.no).<br />

8.7 Institutions - Research, development, education related to aquaculture<br />
In 2009 nearly 3 billion NOK was used in research and development, og this was approximately 1.3<br />
billion NOK used in aquaculture research. This research is conducted in the industry, at universities,<br />
institutes, colleges and independent organizations or companies. The NIFU has on request from the<br />
Norwegian Research Council prepared a report on marine research in Norway. This report,<br />
