EgoliSquash - Help Me To Read Campaign!
WE NEED YOUR BOOKS!
Egolisquash is an outreach program that uses sport as a catalyst to positively
influence kids. More than 3000 learners from the Inner-city of Johannesburg,
Alexandra and Soweto have been empowered to break the cycle of poverty and
crime in our communities. We want every child in our program to be literate!
For many of our kids this is not easy as they encounter significant barriers
including poverty, stressful home circumstances and parents who themselves
lack basic literacy skills. Most of these kids do not have access to books other
than at school.
As part of our on-going work to increase literacy amongst disadvantaged kids,
Egolisquash is currently running a Help Me to Read Campaign, an appeal to the
wider community to donate books for our libraries that we have setup at our
centres. We need books for kids age: 8 – 19.
You can help make a difference in these kids’ lives and help them excel in their
academics by donating school books, story books, educational games and
dictionaries.
Donate books now and you could help make our nation more literate today!
