DAY OF THE DOC<br />

Thursday, May 5<br />

Day of the Doc we investigate the (ideal) role of public<br />

broadcasting in the production of documentaries. Representatives<br />

of, among others, the Finnish, Dutch, Flemish<br />

and Walloon public broadcasters will explain their<br />

situation. What is their policy and how can documentary<br />

film makers adapt to that?<br />

After a networking lunch the second part of the day starts:<br />

how do we put this theory into practice? What means of<br />

funding are available for Flemish documentary makers?<br />

Is Taxshelter feasible and interesting for documentary<br />

productions? How can you generate funding and audience<br />

for your latest documentary using Facebook? The<br />

morning programme is in English, the afternoon (State of<br />

the Docs) is only in Dutch.<br />

In Day of the Doc wordt de vraag gesteld wat de rol is (of<br />

zou moeten zijn) van de publieke omroep in documentaireproductie.<br />

We vernemen de situatie van onder andere de<br />

Finse, Nederlandse, Vlaamse en Waalse openbare omroepen.<br />

Wat is hun beleid en hoe kunnen documentairemakers<br />

hierop inspelen?<br />

Na de netwerklunch gaat het tweede deel van de dag van<br />

start waar de theorie op de praktijk wordt toegepast. Welke<br />

financieringsmogelijkheden zijn er voor de Vlaamse documentairemakers?<br />

Is Taxshelter haalbaar en interessant<br />

voor documentaire producties? Hoe kan Facebook fondsen<br />

en publiek genereren voor je nieuwste documentaire?<br />
