EZRA DROOG (NL) has been active in film industry for 10
years, where she’s worked at different departments for
several film distributors. Nowadays she works for Wild
Bunch Benelux distribution in The Netherlands.
BART VAN LANGENDONCK (BE) started to produce documentaries,
dance films and feature films in 2002, first
for the film production company CCCP, after which he
founded his own production company Sa vage Film, that
produced films like Walking Back To Happiness (Pascal
Poissonnier), which was selected for DOCVILLE in 2010.
The jury for Con-Science consists of:
JOHN VANDAELE (BE) worked as a specialist on foreign and
socio-economic topics for Knack and De Morgen. Since the
magazine was founded in 2003 he works part-time as a
journalist for MO* and since the end of 2010 he’s also cochief
editor. He specializes in China, Congo, international
organisations and socio-economic themes.
LUCKAS VANDER TAELEN (BE) built an impressive career
in 15 years as a documentary filmmaker for the RTBF magazine
Striptease, Telefacts and as director of Arm Wallonie
(The Promised Land). From 2002 until 2005 he was
general administrator of the Flanders Audiovisual Fund.
Since 2009 he is a representative for the Green party in
the Flemish Parliament.
ALEXANDRA HERTWIG (DE) worked before for the International
Centre for Higher Education at Kassel University. In
2009 she became a member and in 2010 the coordinator
of the selection panel of feature documentaries at Kassel
Documentary Film and Video Festival.
AWARD CEREMONY & CLOSING FILM
Screening: Saturday 7 May (8pm), Soetezaal
The winners of the competition will be announced at the
festival’s closing night, in presence of the jury, followed by
the screening of the closing film Freakonomics and a closing
party.

EZRA DROOG (NL) is sinds 10 jaar actief in de filmindustrie
waar ze diverse functies bij filmdistributeurs heeft vervuld.
Momenteel werkt ze voor de distributeur Wild Bunch Benelux
in Nederland.
BART VAN LANGENDONCK (BE) startte in 2002 met het
produceren van documentaires, dansfilms, kortfilms en langspeelfilms,
aanvankelijk voor CCCP en nadien voor zijn eigen
productiehuis Savage Film, waarmee hij onder meer Walking
Back To Happiness (Pascal Poissonnier) produceerde, dat in
2010 voor DOCVILLE geselecteerd werd.
De jury van Weten & Geweten bestaat uit:
JOHN VANDAELE (BE) schreef vele jaren voor Knack en De
Morgen over buitenlandse en socio­economische thema’s.
Sinds de oprichting van het magazine in 2003 werkt hij
deeltijds als journalist voor MO* en sinds eind vorig jaar
ook als co­hoofdredacteur. Hij is gespecialiseerd in onder
meer China, Congo, internationale instellingen en socioeconomische
thema’s.
LUCKAS VANDER TAELEN (BE) bouwde de afgelopen 15
jaar een indrukwekkende carrière uit als documentairemaker
voor onder meer het RTBF magazine Striptease,
Telefacts en als regisseur van onder meer Arm Wallonië.
Van 2002 tot 2005 was hij intendant van het VAF. Sinds
2009 zetelt hij voor Groen! in het Vlaams Parlement.
ALEXANDRA HERTWIG (DE) werkte vroeger voor het Internationaal
Centrum voor Hogere Studies aan de Universiteit
van Kassel. In 2009 werd ze lid en in 2010 coördinator van
het selectieteam voor documentaires van het Documentaire
Film en Video Festival van Kassel.
PRIJSUITREIKING & SLOTFILM
Vertoning: zaterdag 7 mei (20u), Soetezaal
De winnaars van de competitie worden bekend gemaakt op
de slotavond van het festival, in aanwezigheid van de jury.
Nadien volgt de vertoning van de slotfilm Freakonomics én
het slotfeest.
