It is worth visiting the Piast Castle,
erected probably in the mid-14 th
century, the interiors of a 19 th –
century villa of an industrialist,
Oscar Caro, as well as the Radio
Station – a place where on the eve
of World War II a famous provocation
took place, a provocation
which was used by the 3rd Reich as
a propaganda justification of its
aggression against Poland. The
tower of the Radio Station, dating
back to 1935, constitutes a
landmark of Gliwice, and the Radio
Station itself is included in the
Route of Technical Monuments of
the Silesian Province (the whole
route encompasses 32 most
interesting examples of the
technical heritage of the region).
At present there is a Museum on
Radio History and Visual Arts
functioning at the structure.
In the evening – we suggest taking
a stroll around the town. You can
stop by in many romantic
restaurants and nice cafés, teeming
with life. Diversified accommodation
facilities and a campsite
located by the lake make Gliwice a
place where everybody can find
something for themselves.
