formations at wild Wharariki beach
- by foot or on horseback.
• View some of the clearest water ever
recorded at te Waikoropupu springs.
• Mountain bike the Rameka Track and
in winter, the heaphy track.
• Release your inner child exploring
the natural limestone maze at the
labyrinth rocks park.
• Take a scenic flight from Takaka
airfield over abel tasman, Farewell
spit and kahurangi national park.
• Take a scenic walk to The Grove or
Wainui Falls.
• Catch your own salmon at Anatoki
and have it smoked with your choice
of herbs and spices.
• Stroll through the lush native bush
on the kaituna Walk, or venture
as far as you wish, into the start of
the heaphy track in the kahurangi
national park.
• Take a 4WD tour to the
bird sanctuary and wetland
of international importance,
Farewell spit.
• Hand feed the eels just outside
takaka or collingwood.
• Try an onsite brew or pie on the
way to collingwood.
• Go rock climbing at Paynes Ford -
home to some of the best limestone
crag climbing in australasia.
• Have a coffee overlooking the north
western ‘hook’ of the south island at
