TRAFFIC & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT FOR STUs IN URBAN AREAS
(a) Appraise the concept of transport planning & identify the role of STUs in public transport.
(b) Emphasize the need & importance of traffic & operations management.
(c) Review & analyse various methods in planning & managing traffic.
(d) Provide quality service to the customers.
Divisional traffic officers, divisional managers, chief traffic managers, depot managers, other middle level
officers involved in traffic planning & operations of STUs.
IT APPLICATIONS IN DEPOT MANAGEMENT
(a) Introduce IT applications in STUs & to bring out the merits of computerisation.
(b) Identify the areas of computerisation in different disciplines such as traffic, maintenance, materials,
finance, personnel, stores, e-Ticketing etc.
(c) Familiarise the participants with different operating systems & database packages.
(d) To appraise & emphasize the need for web technology & networking radio frequency identification
& detection (RFID) System etc.
Depot managers / branch managers, traffic managers, mechanical engineers & others likely to be
posted as depot managers in State Transport Undertakings.
