Programme Objectives
(a) Application of RTPIS to monitor service adherence and provide managers with better administration
control.
(b) Discuss the technical requirements of the IT infrastructure for the establishment of control centre.
(c) Identify the areas of computerisation in various sections such as traffic maintenance, stores,
finance, administration, e-ticketing etc.
(d) Explain the significance of various IT modules for depot computerisation and integration of depot
modules.
(e) Familiarise the participants with different operating systems and database packages.
(f) Provide overview on safeguarding against cybercrime involving online frauds, scams, hacking,
cyber attacks and phishing activities.
Participant Profile
Depot managers / branch managers, traffic managers, mechanical engineers & others likely to be posted
as depot managers in State Transport Undertakings.

TYRE, FUEL & OIL ECONOMY
Training Period : Three days, 19 – 21 Mar 14
Programme Objectives
(a) Introduction to tubeless & radial tyres.
(b) Identify the various factors affecting tyre life & suggest measures for reducing tyre consumption, so
as to achieve lower cost per km on tyres & tubes.
(c) Assess merits of conventional & cold (precured) retreading process from viewpoint of tyre economy.
(d) Discuss emerging technologies in diesel engines.
(e) Identify factors affecting fuel & oil consumption & pollution levels with special emphasis on
controlling the same.
Participant Profile
Officers from STUs, Government transport departments, motor vehicle department and private transport
organisations.
