His career began at Paramount Pictures as a production executive. Sandston discovered<br />

his true calling in post-production when he began to work at Walt Disney Studios, where<br />

he was rapidly promoted to vice president <strong>of</strong> post-production and visual effects for<br />

aspects <strong>of</strong> post-production on more than 35 feature films, three EPCOT Center shorts<br />

and four Walt Disney Tour films. A partial list <strong>of</strong> Sandston’s credits while at Disney<br />

includes “James and <strong>the</strong> Giant Peach,” “Operation Dumbo Drop,” “Honey, I Shrunk <strong>the</strong><br />

Kids,” “Mr. Destiny,” “Miami Rhapsody” and “Beaches.”<br />

MELISSA REID (Associate Producer) is senior vice president <strong>of</strong> production for Jerry<br />

Bruckheimer <strong>Film</strong>s, and has been with <strong>the</strong> company for 10 years.<br />

Reid was born and raised in New York City and graduated from New York University with<br />

a degree in art history. A stint as a legal assistant in Manhattan following graduation was<br />

enough to convince her to head westward to Los Angeles and pursue her real passion:<br />

film. Her first job in film was as assistant to actress Nancy Travis, gaining additional<br />

knowledge by working as an assistant to <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> literary department at Writers<br />

& Artists Agency.<br />

Reid next took on <strong>the</strong> task <strong>of</strong> assistant and story editor at Lawrence Gordon<br />

Productions, followed by a development position at Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher’s Red<br />

Wagon Productions. During her time <strong>the</strong>re, she worked on developing <strong>the</strong> Academy<br />

Award®–winning “Gladiator,” “Stuart Little 2” and Paul Verhoeven’s “Hollow Man.”<br />

Reid joined Jerry Bruckheimer <strong>Film</strong>s immediately afterwards, and has worked on <strong>the</strong><br />

company’s blockbuster hits ever since. Reid received executive in charge <strong>of</strong> production<br />

credit on “National Treasure: Book <strong>of</strong> Secrets,” “G-Force” and “Prince <strong>of</strong> Persia: The<br />

Sands <strong>of</strong> Time” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” and associate producer credit on<br />

“Confessions <strong>of</strong> a Shopaholic.”<br />

Melissa Reid lives in Los Angeles with husband David Lillard, a partner at IFA Talent<br />

Agency, and <strong>the</strong>ir daughter, Emma.<br />

DARIUSZ WOLSKI, A.S.C. (Director <strong>of</strong> Photography) returns for his fourth tour <strong>of</strong><br />

“PIRATES” duty following his acclaimed work on both “The Curse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Black Pearl,”<br />

“Dead Man’s Chest” and “At World’s End.” Wolski has also worked with Johnny Depp<br />

on Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber <strong>of</strong> Fleet Street” and “Alice in<br />

Wonderland,” and Bruce Robinson’s “The Rum Diary.”<br />

Wolski has collaborated with several notable directors, including Gore Verbinski on “The<br />

Mexican” (preceding <strong>the</strong> first three “Pirates” films); D.J. Caruso on “Eagle Eye”; Andrew<br />

Davis on “A Perfect Murder”; Alex Proyas on “Dark City” and <strong>the</strong> cult favorite “The<br />

Crow”; Peter Medak’s “Romeo is Bleeding;” John Polson’s “Hide and Seek”; as well as<br />

with Tony Scott on “The Fan” and <strong>the</strong> Don Simpson-Jerry Bruckheimer production<br />

“Crimson Tide.” For his work on <strong>the</strong> controversial, highly acclaimed “Crimson Tide,” he<br />

garnered an ASC Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography.<br />
