Born in Warsaw, Poland, Wolski attended <strong>the</strong> <strong>Film</strong> School in Lodz. After emigrating to<br />

<strong>the</strong> United States in 1979, he worked on documentaries, industrials and smaller<br />

independent films. His first big break came in 1986 on <strong>the</strong> film “Heart” when he was<br />

asked to replace <strong>the</strong> cinematographer who moved on to work on ano<strong>the</strong>r project. Soon<br />

after, Wolski moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a director <strong>of</strong> photography on<br />

music videos and commercials for such directors as Alex Proyas, David Fincher, Tony<br />

Scott and Jake Scott. He went on to work on <strong>the</strong> Roger Corman-produced feature<br />

“Nightfall” and on <strong>the</strong> PBS American Playhouse production <strong>of</strong> “Land <strong>of</strong> Little Rain.”<br />

Dariusz Wolski’s next assignment is Ridley Scott’s big-scale science fiction film,<br />

“Prome<strong>the</strong>us.”<br />

“Pirates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” represents JOHN MYHRE’s (Production<br />

Designer) fifth collaboration with director Rob Marshall, following “Chicago,” “Memoirs<br />

<strong>of</strong> a Geisha,” “Nine” and television’s “Tony Bennett: An American Classic.” Myhre was<br />

honored with Academy Awards® for Best Achievement in Art Direction for both<br />

“Chicago” and “Memoirs <strong>of</strong> a Geisha,” and was nominated for “Nine.” Myhre won an<br />

Emmy Award® in <strong>the</strong> category <strong>of</strong> Outstanding Art Direction for a Variety, Music or<br />

Nonfiction Programming for “Tony Bennett: An American Classic,” as well as an Art<br />

Directors Guild Award for “Memoirs <strong>of</strong> a Geisha.”<br />

Myhre received Oscar® nominations for both “Elizabeth” and “Dreamgirls,” BAFTA<br />

Award nominations for “Elizabeth,” “Chicago” and “Memoirs <strong>of</strong> a Geisha” and Art<br />

Directors Guild nominations for “Elizabeth,” “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls” and “Tony Bennett:<br />

An American Classic.” He was also honored by <strong>the</strong> Hollywood <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> as Production<br />

Designer <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Year in 2006.<br />

Beginning his career as a property master, Myhre <strong>the</strong>n served as art director for several<br />

features before taking on full production design responsibilities in <strong>the</strong> early 1990s. In<br />

addition to <strong>the</strong> above, Myhre’s o<strong>the</strong>r feature film credits as production designer have<br />

included “Foxfire,” “Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina,” “X-Men,” “Ali,” “Haunted Mansion”<br />

and “Wanted.”<br />

PENNY ROSE (Costume Designer) has designed <strong>the</strong> costumes for Jerry Bruckheimer and<br />

Gore Verbinski’s “Pirates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Caribbean” trilogy, as well as for “King Arthur” and<br />

“Prince <strong>of</strong> Persia: The Sands <strong>of</strong> Time.” For “Pirates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Caribbean: The Curse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Black Pearl,” Rose received Costume Designers Guild nominations for all three “Pirates”<br />

films, and British Academy <strong>of</strong> <strong>Film</strong> and Television Arts (BAFTA) nominations for “The<br />

Curse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Black Pearl” and “Dead Man’s Chest.”<br />

Rose had received a previous BAFTA nomination for her work on director Alan Parker’s<br />

acclaimed screen version <strong>of</strong> Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical “Evita,”<br />

starring Madonna and Jonathan Pryce. Rose is a longtime collaborator <strong>of</strong> Parker’s and<br />
