expires. Deadlines for handing in a revised version are published on EleUM. Students
who fail the second opportunity will have to choose a new subject in the next
semester.
6. The deadline for subscription corresponds to the deadline for registration for skills
training periods. The assignment must have been submitted to the respective
coordinator by the end of the corresponding skills training period. Coordinators have
fifteen (15) working days for grading the Capstone assignment.
7. The Capstone assignment of 4.0 credits may be replaced by the successful
completion of a Service Science Factory project, during which the student
successfully completes the writing of the bachelor’s Capstone.
Article 14 Courses from other universities or faculties/schools
1. Approval
Courses from other universities or faculties/schools than the SBE may be used as an
elective or a skills training in a study programme, provided that the student has
obtained approval from the Board of Examiners of the SBE prior to the
commencement of the course.
2. Relation to the period of study abroad
The regulations pertaining to courses from other universities that are taken within
the context of the period of study abroad in a study programme are laid down in
article 15 below.
Article 15 Study abroad, Summer Course and Internship
1. International Relations Office (IRO)
The study programme offered through the International Relations Office (IRO) in the
context of the period of study abroad is considered to be part of the study
programme of the SBE.
2. Selection criteria
Once every academic year, the Board of Examiners lays down the selection criteria
for the destinations of the period of study abroad that are to be applied by the
International Relations Office (IRO) and are published on EleUM.
3. Summer course
A maximum of 6.5 credits from the study abroad obligations may be substituted by
doing a summer course at a university abroad. Guidelines are published on EleUM.

4. Internship
A maximum of 4.0 credits from the study abroad obligations or a skills training
period of 4.0 credits may be substituted by doing an internship. (See also article 7.2
