each and every course and skills training within the study programme of the final
Bachelor’s exam.
2. Decision
As set out in section 1 of this article the Board of Examiners will decide in a
reasonable length of time on the fulfilment of the requirements by the students.
Article 29 Bachelor’s degree and Certificate
1. Degree
A Bachelor of Science degree is awarded to students who have fulfilled all the
requirements of the relevant Bachelor’s programme.
2. Certificate
The degree certificate and or the accompanying supplements will state:
- the name of the Bachelor’s study programme;
- the educational units of the examination;
- the degree that is awarded;
- the study programme’s last accreditation date;
- a transcript of the student’s list of grades;
- the passed major, provided that the student has passed two (2) major courses
as specified in the course manual;
- Grade Point Average (GPA);
- the name of the university.
The Board of Examiners includes a diploma supplement, in accordance with
article 7.11 WHW.
3. Signature
The degree certificate is signed by the Dean of the SBE and by the Chairman of the
Board of Examiners.
4. Award ceremony
The award ceremony of the degree certificates is open to the public, unless the Board
of Examiners decides otherwise.
5. The Grade Point Average (GPA)
The Grade Point Average of a Bachelor’s exam (first and final bachelor’s exam)
meeting its requirements equals the weighted average of all final numerical grades
on the students’ transcript, including the numerical grades below 5.5 for educational
units that are on the students grade list that is amongst others published on the
student’s ‘My UM’ portal and that are not replaced by a sufficient numerical grade
achieved for a resit examination.
The weighting is based on the credits of these educational units.
6. Graduation procedure
Students will be automatically issued the Degree certificate when the exam
requirements are met. Students who are entitled to graduate may ask the Board of
Examiners to postpone the graduation in due time. A Degree certificate can only be
