Highlights of the Capital Works
Program include:
• $1.2 million – Gateway to
Gannawarra Education, Cultural
and Heritage Centre
• $3.096 million – Continuation of
the Local Road Network Renewal
Program
• $0.26 million – Continued works
on the Building Renewal Program
• $0.18 million – Footpath and
Kerb Replacement Program
• $0.15 million – Playground
equipment.
Council is entering the second year of
its decision to inject a substantial
amount of funding to improve the
condition of its road network.
Although the flood events of January
2011 have resulted in an initial delay,
the program is anticipated to be back
on track in the coming months.
As a result of the January 2010 flood
event Council is also anticipated to
undertake an estimated $25 million of
infrastructure repair works. Although
Council has two years to undertake
the repair works, the majority of
works is planned to be delivered in
2011/2012.
COUNCIL GRANTS
Council seeks to support worthy
community needs or initiatives.
Although every need is genuine
unfortunately not every application
can be granted. Under stringent
selection criteria and funding
guidelines, the following grants were
awarded in 2010/2011.

Annual Community Grants
• 21 Applications received
• 13 Successful applications
• $35,000 allocated to Community
Grants in 2010/2011
Small Grants
• 25 Applications received
• 20 Successful applications
• $8,318 allocated to Small Grants
in 2010/2011
