Traffic Deaths Down
But Forecast Is Up
There is good news and
bad news on the traffic safety
front.
The good news is that traffic
deaths decreased nationally
by three per cent for the
first three months of 1971.
The bad news comes from
Franklin Kreml, chairman of
the Presidential Task Force
on Highway Safety, who predicts
that traffic deaths will
increase from 55,300 in 1970
to 70,000 annually by 1975
