WEEKLY REPORT NO. 249 and 250
The report period covered by Weekly Reports No. 249 and 250 is from Monday, 20 May 2002 through
Sunday, 2 June 2002. The Resident Engineer's Weekly Report and the Construction Quality Control
(CQC) Consultant's Weekly Report are combined into one report for the On-Site Disposal Facility
(OSDF) Phase 111 and Phase IV projects. Weekly reports Nos. 247 and 248 are combined into one
report due to the limited work activities as a result of heavy rains during the period. During the period,
there was approximately 3.3 inches of precipitation recorded.
Construction Prowess
Phase III - Cell 1 Final Cover Construction
Fluor Fernald Construction continued with the repairs to the Cell 1 final cover, including topsoil
placement and seeding, and installation of erosion mat along the access corridors to the final cover
monitoring systems.
Phase 111 - Valve House 0 LTS and Monitoring Well Pipe Installation
No construction activities.
Phase IV - Borrow Area Excavation, Clay Screening and Restoration Activities
Compacted fill material was excavated fiom Sub-Area 1 and placed in Cell 4 and 5 for benches and
floor subgrade.
Phase IV - Impacted Material Placement
Placement of impacted materials continued in Cell 2 and Cell 3 during the report period. Placement of
material types by Cell was as follows.
