Godw<strong>in</strong> Limberg has lived and worked <strong>in</strong> East Kalimantan, Indonesia,<br />

s<strong>in</strong>ce 1990. He has been a CIFOR field researcher, focus<strong>in</strong>g on governance<br />

issues and <strong>community</strong> rights, s<strong>in</strong>ce 2000. Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g CIFOR, he worked<br />

with the Rio T<strong>in</strong>to Foundation, World Wildlife Fund <strong>in</strong> Kayan Mentarang<br />

National Park, Indonesia, and as a volunteer with a local <strong>community</strong><br />

development organisation. He holds a master’s degree <strong>in</strong> tropical crop<br />

science from Wagen<strong>in</strong>gen Agricultural University, the Netherlands.<br />

Cynthia McDougall, Senior Associate with CIFOR, is a social<br />

scientist who focuses on issues <strong>of</strong> equity, learn<strong>in</strong>g and social change. Her<br />

background <strong>in</strong>cludes research and/or practice <strong>in</strong> food security, <strong>community</strong><br />

forestry, gender and diversity, and experiential education and facilitation.<br />

She was the team leader for both phases <strong>of</strong> CIFOR and partners’ adaptive<br />

<strong>collaborative</strong> <strong>management</strong> research <strong>in</strong> Nepal (1999 to 2002 and 2004 to<br />

2007).<br />

Moira Moeliono has been a researcher at CIFOR s<strong>in</strong>ce 2001, look<strong>in</strong>g<br />

at national-local policy l<strong>in</strong>kages, policy learn<strong>in</strong>g at local level and issues <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>community</strong> <strong>in</strong>volvement <strong>in</strong> natural resource <strong>management</strong>.<br />

Hemant R. Ojha has conducted research on policy, <strong>in</strong>stitutional<br />

and cultural aspects <strong>of</strong> natural resource governance <strong>in</strong> Nepal as well<br />

as <strong>in</strong>ternationally. He has conducted extensive theoretical reviews on<br />

knowledge, power and governance and published <strong>in</strong> journals such as Policy<br />

and Society, International Development Plann<strong>in</strong>g Review, International Journal<br />

<strong>of</strong> Social Economics, Forestry Chronicle and International Forestry Review.<br />

Raj Kumar Pandey is a researcher <strong>in</strong> the field <strong>of</strong> environment and<br />

development. He is currently study<strong>in</strong>g issues related to carbon sequestration<br />

as an way to mitigate global climate change. He worked as a field researcher<br />

<strong>in</strong> the adaptive <strong>collaborative</strong> <strong>management</strong> projects <strong>in</strong> Nepal.<br />

Bishnu Hari Pandit is an <strong>in</strong>dependent Research Consultant, currently<br />

work<strong>in</strong>g at New ERA <strong>in</strong> Kathmandu. He graduated with a master’s<br />

degree and Ph.D. from the <strong>Asia</strong>n Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology, Thailand. He<br />

has experience <strong>in</strong> several fields <strong>of</strong> study, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g adaptive <strong>collaborative</strong><br />

<strong>management</strong>, forest enterprise development, project evaluation, natural<br />

resource policy and plann<strong>in</strong>g, participatory action research, team build<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and conflict <strong>management</strong>. He has written several journal articles,<br />

conference papers and project reports.<br />

Ravi Prabhu is a forester by tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. He worked at CIFOR <strong>in</strong><br />

Indonesia and Zimbabwe from 1994 until 2006, <strong>in</strong>itiat<strong>in</strong>g and lead<strong>in</strong>g global<br />

research on criteria and <strong>in</strong>dicators for susta<strong>in</strong>able forest <strong>management</strong> and<br />

subsequently adaptive <strong>collaborative</strong> <strong>management</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>forests</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Asia</strong> and<br />

Africa. He is currently the Coord<strong>in</strong>ator <strong>of</strong> the CGIAR’s Regional Plan
