Use your leadership skills to plan and run a<br />

weekend program for younger girls. At this<br />

planning session, you’ll sign up to paint faces,<br />

act as tour guide, or supervise refreshments<br />

or pumpkin-decorating. Best <strong>of</strong> all, you can<br />

use your theatrical talent to plan a skit to<br />

entertain younger girls as they visit four shelter<br />

sites at night. Fee includes a sundae bar and<br />

beverage for this planning meeting, as well<br />

as pizza, hot chocolate, and s<strong>of</strong>t pretzels<br />

on the night <strong>of</strong> the event (Friday, October 19<br />

and Saturday, October 20). Special Edition<br />

participation patch provided to all.<br />

different—sometimes strange—happenings.<br />

While searching for bats, owls, and other<br />

nocturnal critters, you might just discover<br />

something amazing. Limited use <strong>of</strong> flashlights<br />

at event. Relates to Night Owl badge.<br />

the local Farmer’s Market watching a food<br />

demonstration and see the many dishes<br />

that can be made from local apples. Find out<br />

the benefits <strong>of</strong> local produce, learn how you<br />

can buy from area farmers, and try samples<br />

<strong>of</strong> what they have to <strong>of</strong>fer! You’ll also have<br />

the chance to create a food calendar and<br />

talk with a local foods expert. Completes<br />

requirements 1-4 <strong>of</strong> the Locavore badge.<br />

girls to explore and experience the life<br />

<strong>of</strong> Abigail Pemberton, a teenager in the<br />

1690s. <strong>Girl</strong>s will, play games, experience a<br />

typical Quaker wedding, and share a meal<br />

using recipes from the past. Fee includes<br />

a per program packet to prepare for this<br />

experience. Relates to Playing the Past badge.<br />

visit pavilions that will have a<br />

frightening show performed just<br />

for you. Round out your evening<br />

by dancing to a DJ, decorating a<br />

pumpkin, or having your face<br />

painted. Fee includes hot<br />

chocolate, snack, and<br />
