Grades: 6–12
Use your leadership skills to plan and run a
weekend program for younger girls. At this
planning session, you’ll sign up to paint faces,
act as tour guide, or supervise refreshments
or pumpkin-decorating. Best of all, you can
use your theatrical talent to plan a skit to
entertain younger girls as they visit four shelter
sites at night. Fee includes a sundae bar and
beverage for this planning meeting, as well
as pizza, hot chocolate, and soft pretzels
on the night of the event (Friday, October 19
and Saturday, October 20). Special Edition
participation patch provided to all.

While searching for bats, owls, and other
nocturnal critters, you might just discover

a number of activities offered, including archery,

Are you a locavore? Spend some time at
the local Farmer’s Market watching a food
demonstration and see the many dishes
that can be made from local apples. Find out
the benefits of local produce, learn how you
can buy from area farmers, and try samples
of what they have to offer! You’ll also have
the chance to create a food calendar and
talk with a local foods expert. Completes
requirements 1-4 of the Locavore badge.

girls to explore and experience the life
of Abigail Pemberton, a teenager in the
1690s. Girls will, play games, experience a
typical Quaker wedding, and share a meal
using recipes from the past. Fee includes
a per program packet to prepare for this
experience. Relates to Playing the Past badge.

Come to this scary rain or moonlight program
planned and implemented by older girls in
grades 6–12. Take a guided hike through
the dark woods where you will
visit pavilions that will have a
frightening show performed just
for you. Round out your evening
by dancing to a DJ, decorating a
pumpkin, or having your face
painted. Fee includes hot
chocolate, snack, and
Special Edition Patch.
