Secondary Disability
It is the responsibility of the clinicians that a patient
should not develop Primary disability during and after the
treatment.
But if he / she does develop it, then ample proper care
should be taken to ensure that no Secondary disability
develops as care of Primary disability is the best way to
prevent Secondary disability.
The three basic principles involved in the prevention of
worsening of disability are :
1. Self care practices.
2. Provision of protective aids.
3. Regular monitoring of patient to ensure
patient’s compliance with self care.
