Recommendations are included to help toolkit users develop strategies to maintain the<br />

<strong>HCV</strong>s present within a forest area. Recommendations are brief and are meant to guide<br />

users on the types of information and consultations necessary to develop effective<br />

planning and monitoring programs. The guidance provided is not meant as standard<br />

operating procedures. Other organizations in Indonesia are developing more<br />

comprehensive guides to help forest managers and other stakeholders develop<br />

management and monitoring strategies for maintaining or enhancing <strong>HCV</strong>s. These<br />

documents are being developed to be used side-by-side this toolkit. Thus, the toolkit<br />

drafting group focused its efforts on providing guidance on identifying <strong>HCV</strong>s within<br />

Indonesia. For additional information regarding efforts to develop in depth management<br />

and monitoring information, please contact the Nature Conservancy at<br />
