This support can come in many forms; i.e. we can provide someone to talk to, help with transport, information on certain illness, someone to go into the young carer’s home for a few hours each week to help look after the cared for person, allowing the young person a well-earned break, and we provide monthly outings and activities whereby the young carers get the opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves and meet up with people in similar circumstances. Objective To identify and offer support to young carers within our area. 72
