Microvision issued approximately 6.3 million shares of its common stock to Azimuth for an aggregate purchase price of $12.5 million. Out of those proceeds, it paid a placement agent fee of $125,000 to Reedland Capital Partners, an institutional division of Financial West Group. Microvision intends to use the funds for general SPAWAR looks to smart system technology & commercialization center for MEMS sensor technology Military sensors specialists at the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) are looking to microelectronics experts at the Smart System Technology & Commercialization Center (STC) to fabricate MEMS for military sensor systems. Officials of the SPAWAR Systems Center Pacifi c announced their plans to negotiate a sole-source contract with the STC to provide MEMS sensor fabrication and diagnostic support for sensors, including starting wafer material and masks necessary to fabricate the devices. STC will handle wafer sizes as large as 150 millimeters in diameter. SPAWAR will ask STC to fabricate intelligence, corporate purposes, including, but not limited to, working capital and capital expenditures. In August, Microvision announced that it had secured a committed equity fi nancing facility under which it may sell up to $60 million of its shares of common stock to Azimuth over a 24-month period. The company’s PicoP ® display technology platform is surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensors; inertial sensor components; acoustic sensor components; energy-harvesting components; optoelectro-mechanical systems; and-resistive heaters. Located outside Rochester, N.Y., the 140,000-squarefoot STC facility has more than 50,000 square feet of certifi ed cleanroom space with 150-millimeter wafer production, plus a dedicated 8,000-square-foot designed to enable next-generation display and imaging products for pico projectors, vehicle displays and wearable displays that interface with mobile devices.
