responsibilities <strong>for</strong> the organisation’s core business activities.<br />
How can this be achieved?<br />
‣ Senior management prioritizing <strong>HSE</strong> at the same level of importance as other business<br />
activities.<br />
‣ Appointing a senior management representative who, irrespective of other<br />
responsibilities, has defined roles, responsibility and authority <strong>for</strong> development and<br />
implementation of <strong>HSE</strong> Management and regular reporting on <strong>HSE</strong> per<strong>for</strong>mance to the<br />
highest level(s) of management.<br />
‣ Senior management providing the leadership, resources and commitment necessary to<br />
develop, operate and maintain effective <strong>HSE</strong> Management in all business activities.<br />
‣ Identifying the senior management positions with <strong>HSE</strong> critical activity responsibilities.<br />
‣ Senior management’s visible and active participation in <strong>HSE</strong> initiatives, ensuring <strong>HSE</strong><br />
commitment is embedded into the company culture.<br />

2.2.2.3 Individual Responsibility and Authority<br />
Objective<br />
To demonstrate that each individual knows and understands his or her responsibility and<br />
authority <strong>for</strong> <strong>HSE</strong> management.<br />
How can it be achieved?<br />
‣ Ensuring <strong>HSE</strong> responsibilities and authorities are established <strong>for</strong> individuals.<br />
‣ Identifying individual positions with <strong>HSE</strong> critical activity responsibilities.<br />
What in the <strong>Drilling</strong> Contractor’s Management System demonstrates assurance to others that<br />
this objective can be achieved?<br />
‣ The arrangements <strong>for</strong> ensuring <strong>HSE</strong> responsibilities and authorities are established <strong>for</strong><br />
employees, contractors, and 3 rd parties at the <strong>Drilling</strong> Contractor’s locations and Rigs.<br />
2.2.2.4 Regulatory Requirements<br />
