Sound cassette is a permanently encased sound<br />

tape system incorporating both supply and take-up<br />

reels. The term "sound cassette" as used in this<br />

document refers to the system of Compact<br />

Cassette standardized by Philips. Cassettes<br />

manufactured in any other system must be fully<br />

identified and described (see 5.2.8). Sound reel is<br />

an open reel containing sound tape.<br />

A disc of plastic or other material on which sound<br />

vibrations are registered.<br />

Slides (q.v.) or pictures (q.v.), mounted in pairs,<br />

designed to produce a three-dimensional optical<br />

effect when used with a stereoscopic viewer.<br />

Stereographic images may also be printed on an<br />

opaque surface for use with a hand viewer<br />

consisting of bicoloured lenses mounted in a card<br />

frame; this type of stereograph usually appears as a<br />

book illustration.<br />
