CARBON REMOVER 3310 Chemicals Code: 809-031 DESCRIPTION: Carbon remover 3310 is a blend of solvents, formulated to remove carbon, paint, engine varnish, tar, ethyl stains, Sticky gums and petroleum residues from engine blocks. Carbon Remover 3310 is also effective for cleaning transmission parts, duel pumps, fuel injectors, valves and tooling. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Remove rubber trim before any treatment. The parts to be cleaned must be totally immersed in the lower layer of Carbon Remover 3310 and should be positioned in baskets so that minimum dragout occurs. <strong>Paints</strong> and lacquers are usually softened in about 20-30 minutes. Sludge of carbon/burnt oil will require a soak of about 1-3 hours and hard carbon may necessitate an overnight soak to effect removal. The actual time depends on the thickness and composition of the deposits. It is not necessary to leave components in the bath until the contamination is completely removed as indicated by visual examination. The carbon of paint can be removed after softening has taken place by high pressure water rinsing. Wipe the clean parts with a dry cloth or by dry air pressure. Parts that are to be stored should be protected with a rust inhibitor. The bath should be operated at ambient temperatures, it should be heated or sited adjacent to other hot processes. Carbon Remover 3310 is ready for use, no mixing or dilution required. The bath must be covered with a lid if any Carbon Remover 3310 is left in the bath. EFFECTS ON MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION: Carbon Remover 3310 has no corrosive effects on steel, copper, magnesium, aluminum, cadmium, nickel or chromium. It will also no affect chemical conversion coatings, such as anodizing, phosphating, chromating and black oxidizing treatments. It should be remembered however that composite assemblies of dissimilar metals always have a possibility of creating galvanic corrosion. Most rubbers and plastics be degraded. Mild still or stainless steel tanks are suitable for operating baths. PRECAUTION: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor (contains chlorinated solvent). Use under conditions of adequate ventilation. Open container with caution. No smoking. Keep away from open flames. In case of skin contact or spillage drench with water. In case of eye contact wash immediately with water and obtain medical advice. Wear protective clothing including gloves and eye shields.
