base platform has been reduced to two, a standard platform and a redundancy version,<br />

reducing stock requirements and order complexity. Third, the platform now incorporates<br />

“Design for Serviceability” features that make the <strong>BCM</strong> easier to install, set up and service.<br />

In addition, the capability for field installation of a WAN card has been introduced and the<br />

Media Services Card is field replaceable. Finally, <strong>BCM</strong> 3.0 offers a new, lower-cost hardware<br />

platform. This platform has two bays for Media Bay Modules and meets the needs of smaller,<br />

more price-sensitive sites.<br />

• <strong>BCM</strong> 3.0 Upgrade – is the upgrade mechanism for <strong>BCM</strong>; it has been redesigned for <strong>BCM</strong><br />

3.0 to reduce the time it takes to upgrade previous releases. The upgrade supports field<br />

upgrade from either <strong>BCM</strong> 2.5 or 2.5 FP1 releases to Release 3.0.<br />

• Other features – add value to Release 3.0. Telephony routing enhancements allow routing<br />

on 12 digits dialed and multiple level (≥2) automatic route selection. Call Detail Recording<br />

(CDR) has been enhanced to allow pull transfer of CDR data. Silent Monitor for Call Center,<br />

serving more advanced call center needs and Silent Monitor of Hunt Groups for less formal<br />

call centers, provide ability for a supervisor to silently monitor calls. An administrative<br />

edition of Desktop Assistant Pro is a downloadable client that allows a system administrator<br />

to configure any set on the system remotely. A client diagnostic tool for the i2050 Software<br />

Phone provides diagnostic information. Improvements to Unified Manager include a<br />

redesigned login page, a new network update wizard with network-loaded templates and<br />

button programming for the Add User wizard.<br />
