This activity provides refuse collection and disposal, kerbside recycling, and hazardous waste removal to<br />
required standards, and the removal of roadside litter and illegal dumping.<br />
The solid waste activity contracts refuse and recycling services to communities across the north <strong>Waikato</strong><br />
region of the <strong>Waikato</strong> district along with a number of waste minimisation activities and is responsible for the<br />
district’s closed landfills. In delivering this service to the community, <strong>Council</strong> undertakes the following:<br />
• Responds to customer enquiries and provides advice<br />
• Network operations<br />
• Waste minimisation initiatives.<br />
• Liaison with third parties<br />
• Contract management<br />
• Asset management<br />
• Closed landfill remediation and monitoring<br />
• <strong>Plan</strong>ning for future growth.<br />
