Variations between the LTCCP and <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Plan</strong><br />
• Process and business improvement project – <strong>Council</strong> has allocated a further $100,000 to enable<br />
additional progress to be made on business improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency,<br />
delivering improved customer service or reducing cost. This cost is seen as a short term commitment to<br />
generate a long-term benefit.<br />
• Ngaruawahia Community House – the Ngaruawahia Community House provides a valuable hub,<br />
which brings together a number of community related groups that support and enrich our community.<br />
The grant of $5,000 is to support the activities of the centre.<br />
• Te Otamanui Lagoon Walkway – <strong>Council</strong> has supported this project over the past two years. The<br />
contribution this year will enable the project to continue to develop.<br />
• Various grants – a range of additional grants were approved as a result of submissions.<br />
• Air ambulance – <strong>Council</strong> has approved an additional grant of $15,000 towards the purchase of a<br />
chopper ($10,000) and operational costs ($5,000).<br />
• Te Kauwhata fire tanker – <strong>Council</strong> has agreed to contribute $25,000 towards the purchase of a new<br />
fire tanker.<br />
